Here’s the Invitation

 

We're putting together an Auction of Promises - an evening on Thursday 12th November at the Green Table in Dartington, where 150 of us will bid on unique, interesting and unusual things. A weekend away, a masterclass, an experience, a promise.

Every promise in the room will have come from a community champion. A person or business who wanted to be part of this. We're aiming to raise £6,000 to fund 3 vital services that support expectant and new parents: counselling and therapeutic support, a feeding support group, and a monthly gathering for lone parents to batch-cook together.

 

If you've got something to give - big or small - we'd like to hear from you. This funding helps us to bridge the gap until we can apply for our next round of National Lottery funding in 2027.

How It Works

​​​

• Tell us what you'd like to offer.

• We place it in a tier. Promises are grouped Platinum, Gold, Silver or Raffle, roughly by value, so bidders know what they're looking at. 

• We'll put together a short description for the auction catalogue and social media in the run-up to the night - you're welcome to review it before it goes anywhere.

• On the night, platinum, gold and silver promises are auctioned live, called by our compere; raffle prizes will be announced during the night. The highest accepted bid is binding. 

• Unless you have provided the item to us, redemption will be between you and the winning bidder - you agree the timing and details together, generally within the following 12 months unless you specify otherwise.

• If a promise can't be fulfilled as described (dates fall through, circumstances change), let us know as soon as possible - we'll agree a fair alternative or refund with you and the bidder rather than leaving it unresolved.

• Before your promise goes into the catalogue, we'll ask you to confirm in writing that you're happy for it to be auctioned to raise funds for the Radiant Mama project, and that you're able to provide it - with any necessary insurance or qualifications in place.

• Your name/your business credited in the auction catalogue on our website, on the night, and across our social media and promotional posts in the lead-up.

• A mention from our compere as your promise goes under the hammer.

• Genuine thanks from us and from everyone whose support this fundraiser makes possible

• If helpful, a letter confirming your donation for your own records.

What We Need From You

To make sure every promise is clear for bidders and safe to fulfil, we'll ask you for:

• Your name and contact details

• The exact item or service on offer, including location, duration or quantity 

• Any restrictions, exclusions or blackout dates, and an expiry date for when it needs to be redeemed by

• Whether travel or materials are included, or arranged separately

• An honest estimate of its value, so we can place it in the right tier

• A photo for the catalogue, promotion and social media

• Your social media and website links

• A photo of you or your team

• Company logo 

• Your written confirmation that you're happy for the promise to be auctioned in aid of the Radiant Mama project, and that you're able to provide it
