Myofascial Release

Myofascial Release (MFR) is a safe, gentle and effective therapy that can provide a very welcome relief from pain, discomfort and immobility. In Pregnancy MFR can help make space in the abdomen - allowing the organs to work more efficiently and creating an environment in which both the fetus and new mother are less stressed and more comfortable especially in the last few months. MFR has been described as “the most useful tool for helping babies to move into more favourable positions”.For the new mother, MFR can help with back pain and healing after birth, including  lessening complications to scars from cesarean surgery. MFR also a great tool to simply return to feeling well again.

Craniosacral Therapy

Childbirth is a unique transition for the whole family, bringing many changes which are both awesome and extremely stressful. Craniosacral Therapy is a safe and gentle choice to support you through your pregnancy and prepare for the birth of your baby. Some women sail through their pregnancy, whilst for others it can be more challenging. Whatever your experience, CST can help in many ways. CST helps to relieve minor ailments, such as back pain, settles the nervous and hormonal systems, supports your body’s changing physiology and provides time for quiet reflection, deep relaxation and bonding with the baby growing inside you.. Postnatally, much attention is focused on the baby – and indeed CST can help to alleviate many common difficulties such as colic, sleeping and feeding.

Sarah Parker

I am a craniosacral practitioner and I use this very gentle and sensitive form of touch in my bodywork. My intention with this work is to bring the light of presence to those places that are still hidden within, which are stuck and which are causing physical or emotional symptoms. I am interested in how our bodies hold on to trauma, and how they also know how to let go of it, when the conditions are right.

Initially I trained as a medical doctor and worked in Torbay Hospital, in the Intensive Care Unit. After that I trained as a craniosacral practitioner at Karuna Institute, Dartmoor. That was 10 years ago. I now have a practice in Dartington where I offer sessions to Women, Pregnant Mothers and Mums & Babies.

I offer Biodynamic Craniosacral therapy from the beautiful garden studio in my home in Buckfastliegh and from the Natural Health Centre in Totnes. Biodynamic Craniosacral is a subtle but very powerful touch therapy that help regulate the nervous system through revisiting a deep space within us that holds imprint of our system in health.
I'm trained as a midwife since 2007 and excited to offer for the first time in the UK birth-work care and support for pregnancy, Labour and birth and the postpartum period including breastfeeding consultation.
Please feel welcome to give me a call if you want to know more about my work book a session or a home visit. Naveena ♡
